Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026‑01‑24
This Privacy Policy explains how Hook QR collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app.
Information we collect
- Scan data: QR content you scan, and metadata you configure (e.g., Door No, Device ID, scan mode).
- Network: your configured endpoint receives the POST requests containing scan data and metadata.
- On‑device logs: recent scan results are stored locally on your device for troubleshooting.
- Advertising: if ads are enabled, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad performance signals according to Google’s policies.
- Purchases: purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple/Google via in‑app purchases; we do not store your card details.
How we use information
- To deliver the core feature: scan and send to your endpoint.
- To display scan status and keep operational logs on device.
- To show ads (banner/rewarded) and measure ad performance (when enabled).
- To manage credits, subscriptions, and purchases (unlock features).
Sharing
- Your endpoint: scan payloads are sent to the endpoint URL you configure.
- AdMob: ad requests may be sent to Google to serve and measure ads.
- App Store / Google Play: purchase and subscription validation is handled by the platform.
Tracking (iOS)
On iOS, the app may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. If you allow tracking, the app may access the advertising identifier (IDFA) for ad measurement via AdMob. If you deny, ads may still be shown but may be less relevant, and some measurement may be limited.
Security
We use standard safeguards. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
